It may be a foreshadowing of sorts for the Buckeye staff to put Nalyssa Smith in the No. 3 while she was on her second official visit in Columbus recently. There's no doubts that the five-star recruit has the talent to replace what the Buckeyes will be losing when Kelsey Mitchell graduates after this season.
The 6-foot-3 forward out of East Central High School in Converse, Texas has been getting rave reviews of late and all of the top programs are hot on her trail, but none more than head coach Kevin McGuff and his recruiting ace Patrick Klein.

According to ESPN scout numbers she has an overall grade of 98, is the second-ranked player at her position and No. 7 overall in the 2018 class. In her 60 games played in high school she is averaging a double-double with 15.9 points and 10.3 rebounds. She also brings more than three blocks a game to the table with her stout defense.

Her junior season is what got everyone's attention as she averaged 23.2 points, 17.5 rebounds and five blocked shots during the six games she played. Check out her HUDL video via her account.
